Dropping the Beet: Why Our Recipe Cards Are Now Optional

Dropping the Beet: Why Our Recipe Cards Are Now Optional

Each time you unpack your Imperfect box each week, you've probably seen the Weekly Beet card that comes with each delivery. It's where we share a seasonal recipe, plus some information about the wonderful people that make Imperfect what it is. Maybe you use it, maybe you save it, maybe you recycle it. Regardless, it's always there.

Since it's been a part of boxes for such a long time, we wanted to give you a heads up that, starting in April, we’ll be making our Weekly Beet recipe cards an optional add-on instead of a default part of every box. Why this change? We're all about transparency and honesty, so here's the deal:

By making this card optional, we'll be able to keep tons of paper out of the waste stream while still getting you the recipes and Imperfect info that you want, in the form that works best for you. If you’d like a recipe card in your box, you can easily add it when you customize your box. If you'd rather spare a tree, you can pass and just find the recipes online. This is one part of our ongoing effort to think outside of the produce box and find ways to minimize our environmental footprint as a company.

We can’t wait to celebrate Earth Month with you! We hope you'll join us in our effort to #learnmorewasteless for all of April.
